The Syrian Arab Republic has fallen to the forces of empire after a long siege. The goal of this siege was never freedom. It was always destruction and the balkanization of a once proud and independent nation. As their land is carved up by Israel, the United States and Turkey, the Syrian people will be forced to fight a new struggle for liberation.
